The room was comfortable BUT I had asked for a downstairs room when I made the reservations. I have mobility issues; I could only get up to the room once. My partner had to go up and down to carry our belongings and walk me up and down the stairs as well. And, I forgot to bring soap.There was not one bit of soap or other toiletries in room. Poor partner had to go to office for some. I like having the microwave and mini fridge in room. Liked phone charger in the lamp.

The staff were great and so kind/accommodating, location was ideal. I saw the sunrise in the morning from my room. My son goes to Humboldt which was why I decided to get a room in Arcata. Looked like everything was freshly remodeled and the price was less than half of what surrounding hotels are charging. Almost everything in the room looked relatively new. So I based my review on economics, proximity, helpfulness and cleanliness.

I was very pleased with my room. The staff were all very nice and accommodating and the room itself was beautifully styled. I've seen other reviews mentioning a recent renovation and my room seems to have been one of those renovated because it was so nice and up to date. The bathroom in particular was designed so well. The bed and pillows were comfortable and there was little noise from outside so I was able to rest. I would definitely recommend staying here for anyone who would want a nice room on a budget
